Long Island VHF Reception?
Submitted by big john on Sat, 2016-02-20 20:59
Looking at doing a week based at Long Island in April, probably just my boat.
Does anyone know if you can reach Exmouth VMR by VHF radio from around Long Island? Thinking of hiring a sat phone but may not need it if radio reception is ok.
Is there an Exmouth member who would be interested in storing my vehicle and trailer at there place (for a fee of course)? Probably safer than leaving it at the marina ramp.

Repeater
The repeater aerial is up on the hill so you shouldn't have any trouble getting a signal on channel 22

Hey mate should be no probs
Hey mate should be no probs getting reception. If your stuck and need somewhere to store your trailer can chuck it out the front of my place. Have room but under trees unless you unhitch it it can fit in the front yard. As the other guys have said should be safe at the marina. Cheers

Feedback
Cheers for the feedback guys, might go with the leave at ramp option. Might notify the local constabulary.
