Lowrance hds 7 touch tracker line

HI there does any one know how to get the tracking line  on the hds 7 touch ATM I have it for a short distance but I'd like it to stay permanently until I want it gone as the way it is now is hard to see how the drift is going and so on  so I've got a trip away this weekend coming and really want it sorted   Everythen else is good with the combo except this getting good readings everythen is sweet

 Bump.  I have a Lowrance

Tue, 2016-03-15 09:06

Bump.  I have a Lowrance HDS7 gen 2 and the instruction manual says it auto records the trails.  But this is not happening.  Do I have to manually go into menu each time and start a new trail.  My old navman tracker would automatically record the trail from the time of start up.  Is there a way I can set up trails to start automatically?

thanks.

Trails

hey oldbull I think from memory you do have to turn it on in the trails menu, but once turned on you shouldn't have to keep turning it on every time you switch the unit off. When you clear the trail you have to turn it back on then.

Hope my memory serves me right and this helps.

Wish the HDI didn't start Trails in auto

Minor bloody nuisance, I know, but it starts up trails every time it turns on, can't find an option to stop it, can only go into Trails and deltee the one that has just started as I head away from the boat ramp. To get distance, don't you just hit cursor and move it to the position you are interested in ? Should give the distance and bearing in a little box?
