bubblepop lures
they work p[retty well. Just work them same you would a big popper but a little more gentle with plenty of pauses in between. Make sure you are ultralight with all your main gear or they won't get a good enough action.

Good size Yellowfin
That was up in the creeks Vince near Learmonth Airport on an incoming tide. Great fun catch and release.

I've heard something alot
I've heard something alot different, 15lb leader because it doesn't have as much flex in it as say 6lb, and wind them in with no action, no pauses, just dead straight.
the theory is that they lose interest when it pauses, i have never tried but this is what they do on Ifish and the results speak for themselves.
small poppers between the 3-6cm range would do the trick.

Ive gotten them from deep
Ive gotten them from deep drop offs around chidley, and then in less than a foot of water around point walter. small poppers such as r2s bubble pops in 35,45 and 65 are dynamite.

Vibes for me, the whiting in the swan seem to be more agressive even caught one less then 8cm long in 1 foot of water.

Caught a few good sized
Caught a few good sized whiting in the swan on vibes the other day while flicking for flatties. Gold seemed to be the colour of choice for the whiting.

Just came back from Exxy
Didnt take the boat because of the wind forecast, but still caught big whiting using the exact lure (and bait) as Andy mac. But it wasnt catch and release, it was frypan. Yum. The gold one did most of the damage, and I used ultra light leaders but the gear I used was a diawa flame with a Stradic CI4 4000 (overkill but only took 4 rods).

Gold
35mm Gold Scorpions have seen me land yellowfin up to 40cm on the flats. They hit them really hard. Running 4kg fluro minimum, just incase you get hit by a flattie.
