Mack on a yak

Braved the wild and wooly weather this morning and headed to a far north beach and got this fella:
followed by ALOT of weed on trolled lures. He eventually went out as bait and got this fella :D
A bit too big to fit in the camera shot ! My first Metro(ish) mackie
I'm stoked, it was one of my goals for the year!
Measured him on the beach, he went 15kg and was about 120 to the fork
Water temp was 24 degs, I don't think it will be long until they are in central metro if they are not already!

Great metro mac. From a kayak, even better.

thanks guys. I rigged the
thanks guys.
I rigged the snook with single strand 69lb wire going to an 8/0 circle - this went trhough the top and bottom lip of the snook, then rigged a stinger treble off of that connection and run that to the back of the bait. Then tied a ball sinker of the eye of the circle to stabilise and get the bait down a bit.
I was pushing into the wind at the time so was trolling pretty slow - about 2.5km/h. that weed sure was a PITA. good thing about that set up is that it does not get caught up on weed too much as the circle is pointing up and the stinger is on the top of the bait so most weed slides down the line and under the bait.

Respect on getting that from
Respect on getting that from a yak.
Would love to know just how far north it was ;-)
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
