Make a New Year's Resolution - Join Recfishwest!!

Ok, all you guys/gals that care enough about fishing to comment or post on this web site - how about putting just a little bit of money in to support your comments???

I guarantee that Recfishwest has done something for you during the last couple of years, so how about a show of support?

It only costs $22 per year and would help to strengthen the cause of common sense management of so many things affecting your fishing.

With the Integrated Fisheries assessment of demersal West Coast and Gascoyne fin fish coming up, plus Salmon sharing, the implementation of the wetfish review, the Cape to Cape, Walpole, Shoalwater and Dampier marine parks, Rottnest no fishing areas and so much else - 2007 will be yet another big year and one that you need to be a part of......

Don't just whinge about it - do something about it!!

That $22 couldn't be better spent. Cheque or credit card details are fine, but we need your address etc for our mailing lists for information about what's going on which could affect YOUR fishing.

Contact us at PO Box 34 North Beach 6920 or 9246 3366. We need you to help us to help you!!!!!!!!!!!

Feel free to check out our website http://www.recfishwest.org.au It has a full list of Recfishwest submissions, activities, policies etc, and a contact page for any questions or comments.

We would welcome you to the fold.

$22 is a small amount to pay to increase our voice as fishermen. I will be in that.

Great idea

Mon, 2007-01-08 08:28

I as many people proberly do have noticed a great decline in fishing over the last 7 years let alone in the past 20. Many of us find that lighter tackle etc is needed to catch the same species now than once before. I was at Hillarys on the weekend and once again noticed an abundance of people taking under size fish, and i very much doubt that they dont know the rules and regs. Ill be happy to do what ever is needed to stop this from happening and to keep the fishing alive in WA. Almost all of us have returned a fish of some size, legal or not and doesnt it feel great. Catch and realease is rewarding and so is keeping just enough for a feed.

Entertaining

Entertaining and informative! Theres a lot of reading to be done when Terry gets his groove on. When it comes to stuff that we love doing in our free time its only fair that we should take a bit of that free time to focus on the things which will impact our sport and hobby and children in the future.

RFW Membership Application form

It's Con Costa's time for some leave and time with his wife and children, so some things at Recfishwest won't get done instantly if not sooner like they usually do when Con's around.

Here is a PDF version of the Recfishwest membership application form, please fill it out and send it in.

Awesome idea TerryF.Seen some bad things up here in hedland like netting and people keeping BIGG BARRA'S. We up at hedland might be out of the zone that your talking about but it is somthing we have to police. Our next generation need to experience fishing too, somting we need too look after. Fish and our marine parks.Feel very strongly about it!!!!!!!!!

RFW - great to have country people involved

Tue, 2007-01-09 07:11

Recfishwest will cover all fishing in all of WA where we know there's something going on.

That's a mighty big job in such a large State with such differences from the South Coast to the Kimberleys.

Being based in Perth, we can't have that detailed local knowledge of places all over the State like the local people have, so we welcome your comments and ideas.

Guys like you from the country are really valuable as Recfishwest's contacts and "eyes and ears" throughout the State.

You can help us do a job which properly covers the local conditions and local fishing issues and what local people want and need.

Give us your comments on anything we do or say - watch the website http://www.recfishwest.org.au/ and if you are a RFW member you'll get advised about lots of stuff by email.

Tell us what concerns you, and we'll have a go at it - or tell you what we've already got going on it.

My membership monies has been sent. I like the fact that there is someone willing to listen to the concerns of Anglers and potentially voice them. Good stuff!
