Have you got a colour
Have you got a colour sounder????
Just get into the 30's and keep sounding around until you see fish or coral....
Roughly from 10-12 mile out from cut and you start finding action....
There's plenty of life around...

The Bank
In a 4.2 I would be more inclined to limit the distance you head out unless you are very confident both in the boat and the weather.
My suggestion would be to head roughly WSW for around 5nm and you pass over the FFB ..............work your way down it, we have caught plenty of good pinkies, skippy and the occasional KGW and it is much closer.
Good luck !

James Service Reef
Whale oil beef hooked!
You could also go north from the Mary Street Lagoon ramp to the James Service Reef.
Nice sandy patch in front of it with heaps of whiting.
Fish the gaps of the reef at the northern end for big skippy
Only 8 miles to the northern end
