Mandurah deep dropping

Hey guys, just looking to get any info any of you have on your deep dropping success off Mandurah. Just to get an idea of whether or not it's worth the extra miles. Any words of wisdom would be magic. Cheers

 Hi Jacko,I've been out West

 Hi Jacko,

I've been out West of Dawsville Cut with my uncle out to the 205-220m mark. I think it was 35nm but don't quote me on it. We have just started exploring out there ourselves just before the demersal ban hit. We were lucky enough to be given a spot to try which seems to produce school snapper at about 600-650mm long but that was all we seemed to pull up from it, not complaining but we started driving around to find other spots to try get Hapuka and what ever other big bities are out there with not much luck. Lots of green eyed sharks but it will only be a matter of time before we find some fish. We might try deeper if we go out there next time. I've been out the back of Rottnest with more luck with finding a couple of cod on the third spot we tried and that was driving around until something looked ok on the sounder. You need a reel with a lot of line on it and big sinkers if the wind is up or the tide is ripping. We were in 320m of water and had a tad over 400m of line out according to the line counter. If the wind picks up, it can be a long trip home so just choose your days. It can be a bit discouraging going out so far to catch nothing but the day you pull up your first cod will be one to remember. It was 7 trips, driving for 1.5hrs minimum to get out to the contour lines we had our eyes on before we caught something other than the green eyed shark. We were in 320m of water and where I had marked the likely ground to try and where the boat was when we caught fish was about 100m from each other to the side. Your bait is not necessarily following behind the boat. And if the winds are in our favour again, I'll be out there again.
