Mandurah estuary mixed bag

Saw a cobbler lying in a weed patch while i was wading the flats this morning and had my net handy so with a little effort, managed to scoop it up. It measured 49cm.
i also caught a 47cm, 1kg mullet that put up a really good 15 minute fight on my new 2-4lb black label. Also got a few average whiting.
ps. Wouldnt mind hearing some cobbler recipes.

I'm guessing it took a popper/stickbait? Or did you jag it? It'd be great if we could hook more of these things...they go hard and are brilliant crab bait. I actually caught one before I got my first whiting doing this type of fishing...not nearly that big, though!

Got it on a stickbait auslobster but it was on the side of its head but i like to think it was an aggressive swipe
Only got three whiting jorn but saw more than that and lost some.

best way to eat cobbler is to just dust in flour and in the pan with a bit of butter. nothing fancy needed, maybe a bit of lemon juice splashed over it while cooking. eaten many over the years .
