Mercury 60hp piston slap

 Hey all, I've got a 1996 mercury 60hp oil injected and it recently developed some piston slapping. It's on a 16ft fibreglass centre console so what suggestions do you have for motors was thinking about four stroke and 80hp, btw if anyone is interested in the motor let me know haha. Cheers guys :)

if going new I'd get a

if going new I'd get a fourstroke either Yamaha or Suzuki.  I have a Yamaha F70a 4st on my 16ft 1/4 cab (no not for sale) light for the HP at 119kg and would suit your boat perfectly - you could expect to use about half the fuel of the 2 stroke.  I went from 70 2st to the yammy and no drop in holeshot and slight increase in top end speed.

Anything bigger you'd want to check transom weight and max HP rating of the hull

 Thanks for the info mate, yeah I'd like to get new but if a low hour second hand motor comes up ill go for that :) cheers again
