Metro Weather Forecast 20/21st Jan
Saturday: SE'ly winds 15/20 knots reaching S/SE 20/30 knots offshore until sunrise. Winds throughout becoming E/SE 13/18 knots during the morning before shifting S'ly 18/23 knots in the afternoon. Seas 1.5m to 2.0m. Swell 1.0m to 1.5m.
Sunday: E/NE winds 15/20 knots easing to 10/15 knots late morning. Winds shifting S/SW 15/20 knots in the afternoon.
Looks like Saturdays going to be a blowout, but there is potential for Sunday to get better. Hopefully it will drop out a bit as north easters make for terrible seas mixed with a south west swell. Keep your eye on Sunday, might turn out to be ok for a mid morning fishing mission. Make sure you only go out if you feel comfortable with the conditions thou!!!
Tight lines. ;)

Yep, your right Mav
Sunday: SE'ly winds 15/20 knots tending E/NE 13/18 knots during the morning. Winds becoming S/SW 13/18 knots early afternoon and increasing to 18/23 knots late afternoon. Seas to 1.5m. Swell 1.0m to 1.5m.
That looks messy to me, South easterly turning it to slop, then the north easter creating side wash with a 1.5m swell. Ewwwwww, think I might wait for a better day and get on the booze at motorvation tonight.

Off to Golden Bay
Might see if I can score a Mulloway off the beach or just go crabbing.
Cheers

Blowing
Its blowing pretty hard here. Just checked seabreeze and from 7am its picked up quite a bit. Inclose it would be fine, but I wouldn't like to be out past Rotto at the moment. Sure we will hear from Jay/Honsu and the boys what it was like out there. North Easters make for one of the worst seas there are in my opinion, but it does mean that it is likely to drop out at some stage and there will be a window before the seabreeze comes in where it should be ok.

whats with the weather
well guys ive been out and just got home. what a crap morning it was. Left point peron at 5 nice cruise out to me favourite spots. then once that sun came up it went to sh#t. then it went to f#$%^d. had to sit it out 25km out and wait, got thrown around. no way was i bashing back in. ended up a nice window out there where the tuna came on. only small 3kg but heck what fun it was. then got a double header of undersized dhuies and a pan size snapper. came in on the seabreeze.
