Monkey Mia Fishing

Hi everyone,
I am going fishing in monkey mia in 4 weeks, i am staying at the resort and am hoping to catch flathead and whiting on the flats but im not sure if there are any spots near by that i could fish for coral trout or bluebone? if there is what bait or lures would be best?

Are you taking a boat or are you shore based, either way Cape Peron is probably your best bet.
Fish the channel that runs around the point at night for pink snapper from the shore or sound around due north about 1km or due east the same distance for ground to fish on

Cape Peron tip
Yep the very tip of Cape Peron right on sunset is killer for pinkies. Just a normal single dropper bottom rig cast into the gutter in front, on the right hand side of the very tip. Nothing much happens until the sun hits the water and then it's game on! We caught our 6 good sized pinkies in about half an hour.

thanks i am mainly land based but i do have a kayak that i could probably get more distance with?
