Montes questions

What is generally accepted as the best (and closest) anchorage at the Montes for smaller boats, or does it depend a lot on where you leave from? In addition what sort of mileage would you have to do from the anchorage to give yourself a reasonable "taste" of the place? Ta, John

You can find somewhere safe
You can find somewhere safe to anchor anywhere in the group. We anchor in a differnt place all the time depending on where we are fishing or what we are doing.
As to milage it depends what you are doing. If your just crusing around the islands you would do maybe 20mile a day that would get you from one end to the other

Yeh Like Pricey said when i went 2 months ago we just stayed somewhere different every night. Depending on what the wind direction was doing determined where we stayed.
But then again we sleep on the boat so moving is easy!
I did 320nm last time i went, but only chased fish out wide once. If you head west it will really increase your distance. But can easily doing Monties on close on 300nm
