Was out at the islands last weekend for a few days with the kids when we saw this plane go over about 15000 times at 50 feet, and wondered what they were up to.
Then came across this article
which I cannot paste here
Bottom line a search for the Aagtekerk, thought to have been wrecked very close to the Zeewijk

Had a read of the article
Had a read of the article during the week. Plane checking for magnetic anomalies searching for a large amount of lost valuables. Be amazing if they found another.

I'm not sure they will find
I'm not sure they will find a lot more valuables, as the thinking is that it is mixed with Zeewijk stuff?
The aircraft seemed to concentrate on pelsaert island, going north south and moving 50 odd meters each time and all afternoon

MAD search.
Pioneered by the military for sub hunting. "MADMAN,MADMAN" comes the call, ASW homing torpedoes dropped from helo or Orion, first thing the sub knows about it is the sound of the torp screw. I can imagine it " where the F**k did that come from!!!!"

Yeah, Austal ships are funding this, so hopefully it's funded well and not the chicken feed the govt would reluctantly cough up.

Unfinished Voyages
There is a series of hard cover books titled Unfinished Voyages by Lynn Cairns and Graeme Henderson. I purchased the 3rd in the series. . It's full of great pix and biographical info on each of the wrecks..plus area maps of the WA coast detailing wrecks. Hamelin Bay jetty circa late 1900 s. Great read for those inclined.
