mosman bay taylor

hey me and a friend have just started fishing for taylor in mosman bay and we didnt do too bad fir the first time trolling we got 4 keepers and dropped one on saturday evening/night. my question is do people just troll around to find them or is there a certin depth that they like to hang round or depth the bait hangs at.
we got ours on a nice drop going from about 9m to 5 m and every time we went over it we got a hit. we were using krystal minnows and they were smashing them.
also i was just wondering what lures people use trolling and were can i find some deep diving lures in the 80mm to 100mm range any help would be appreciated

I caught them twice with the same lure at around 9m too at Pt Walter and Bicton. Both tines mid mirning but I don't really know what I'm doing and just troll in between flathead spots at 4-6 knots

chopper schools end of October
Have not chased them for many years but my recollection was that the chopper schools generally had worked their way up to Perth waters by the end of October. Activity tended to taper off by Christmas. It was a case of look for the bird activity and troll trough it. Any lure in the water tended to get hit. As the fish tended to be on the small size, small lures were better. Halco chrome slices or wonder wobblers were a cheap option. Any hardbody resembling whitebait in size or shape were another good option.

what are you fishing from? Over the years I have caught one size one from the area and a lot of undersize.

fishing from a tinny mate
fishing from a tinny mate were lookin for mullys baits. put the taylor in the pic out weightless and got smoked. got bricked after a 200m run
