most overated and most underated

Jack Riewolit would have to be the most over rated player in the AFL the most under rated would have to be Danyle Pierce (freo) think he is in for a big season

agree with you on jack. not
agree with you on jack.
not sure that danyle pearce is under-rated. he really needs to work on his finishing in front of goals and looking for better opportunities, he takes the low percentage option (a shot himself from difficult angles) too often.
highly rated by coaches / under-rated by (non freo) fans.... throw steven hill up. I reckon he has not been tagged on only about three or four occasions in as many years. and every time he is allowed to run free, he cuts opposition defences to pieces...

a carton of crownies says danyle pearce gets more brownlow votes than hilly and hilly is of to a good start should have picked up at least 1 vote for Fridays game

hilly gets tagged too often
hilly gets tagged too often to take a bet like that. And others in that freo midfield will take votes off both of them. I reckon Sandi, Mundy and Fyfe are in for big years. Mundy's work with Sandi has been fantastic in the pre season. Fyfe will win the brownlow within three years. I hope its 2014. Gary jnr might have to miss a few weeks with injury for that to happen....

i am not a freo fan but
I have to say from first day I saw Nat Fyfe I thought he is one out of the box reminds me of Gavin Wanganeen but bigger and stronger and yes if he dosent win a brownlow it will be because of injury

I'm a dockers supporter, I reckon mcpharlin has to be the most underrated player, he has so be one of the best back man I have seen consistently

I'm not sure if he is underrated. I reckon if you asked any opposition coach, player or supporter if they wanted mcpharlin in their team... I reckon you wouldn't get a "no".

The most underated footballer ever. This guy is the best player to pull on a boot. ok he's past his prime but go back 2 or 3 years and you would see what i mean. Had he played for say Collingwood or Carlton he would be held up where he belongs. But because he is over here.. no much in the accolades department from our friends in the east
As far as overated goes how about franklin...he is good but the way he is held up you would think he was the best ever. $10000000 what a joke

Cant stand Buddy. Umpires
Cant stand Buddy. Umpires love him though. Watch how many high contact and pushes in the back he gets away with. No-one was happier than me when he failed to perform last week.

Well
For under rated I reckon Ben Reid from Collingwood (yes I am a pies supporter) he can play forward or back and often gets more goals than Travis cloke or the apparent q stick.
most over rated by far is Matt Pridis from westcoast. Yeah I know I will cop backlash for that one but I honestly believe he is the best of a bad midfield bunch at westcoast. If it wasn't for the fancy permed looking hair do then he wouldn't get a look in at another club.

Freo are the masters of trade
Freo are the masters of trade f@#k ups. They may have had some silverware by now if the tards behind the scenes had have made better decisions in the past. Several crap players or good players at the end of their careers for too much dosh obtained from other clubs and bloody good players (and potential drafts of bloody good players) gone elsewhere. Not the coaches fault for lack of results, cant blame the chef when the ingredients arent all there

Both certainly add to the depth and will keep that pressure on the first 22. Gumby was always going to be a risk. Time will tell.

Yep some bad ones there for sure, but I'd rather have luke mcpharlin than croad, hodge and mitchell. And it all changed when phil smat took over. He put his job on the line when they drafted a skinny kid from lake grace....

You would rather have Mcpharlin than Croad, Hodge and mitchell. You have got to be kidding. There may already be some silverware in the cabinet if you had that bunch.

Crap. Good quality
Crap. Good quality midfielders are a dime a dozen. Defenders of mcpharlin's quality are as rare as hen's teeth. Mcpharlin had seven goals kicked on him by direct opponents last year. Seven for the whole season.

You got to remember that we
You got to remember that we were losing tarrant after turning his career around (credit chris scott). Tarrant was always going. Anthony was a consolation trade that went nowhere. The pies had us over a barrel and parted our arse cheeks. I dont think any blame can be put on the freo list mangers for that. Collingwood always knew tarrant was theirs whether we got something or not.

Sam Mitchel is a premiership
Sam Mitchel is a premiership captain finishing twice runner up in the brownlow and Hodge is a Premiership captain who one a normsmith playing undersized at centre half back with broken ribs.
Mcpharlin doesn't even come close to these two, that is pretty much the worst trade in history.
And if you want to talk about turning players around, Croad was a gun when he was at the hawks. Went to dockers = spud. Back to the hawks All Australian.
ross has them on the right track but gee some terrible decisions have been made at that club!
Tight lines to all :)

Requires more than two
Requires more than two players to win a premiership. Had we had those two I still doubt we would have any silverware. Fremantle needed a quality coach. Much like WCE needed in 1990 when they malthouse. At freo the team hasnt changed that significantly in so far as personnel under ross, but he has given them a simple game plan and bought out the best of the playing group. Built it around some very structurally important players.

your dead right
on both players I think buddys best days are past him , big bucks , I think he lacks the bloods staunchness to each other , Ryan O,keef has apparently gone to the leadership group and complained Buddy isnt doing the righty by the bloods culture guess what Ryan gets dropped and buddy gets played , personally think the swans have made a monumental bad decision picking him up

jack
dockers picking up Jack Anothony (thanks Mark Harvey) although they did do some good trading that year picking up Mzungu and griffin. Either way Anthony fortunately didnt cost them much next to nothing and the same with gumbo nothing to lose except a hami, dockers had some pretty questionable recruiting in their early days. Sydney signing buddy on a contract like that was a big mistake even though he will play better he isnt worth that. IMO signing nic nat most overated on a 1 million per season deal was a big mistake too the guy averges 13 touches a game and his body cant handle the amount of work required, when you look at what the eagles will spend on managing him he is one expensive player that is pretty overated hasnt done enough for me yet

I agree that nic nat is way overrated as a player. I think that contract had far more to do with his marketability off the ground for the eagles.

Most overatted surely has to
Most overatted surely has to go to Nick Maxwell, has been the worst player in the league for at least two seasons. Wouldn't have even got a game if he wasn't captain, how did he even get captain?

Croad was an All Australian
Croad was an All Australian CHB at the hawks, dockers tried to play him at CHF to fill a gap. Im an avid hawks supporter but have a soft spot for Freo. They are def on the right track with Lyon. But they were a complete shambles before that, I respected mcmanus too but he wouldn't have got a game in one of the A grade midfields and never finished with a premiership. He was a club icon at the time, wouldn't come close to getting a look in with the current crop.
