Broome jetty is OK. Should be

Broome jetty is OK. Should be able to get into some Queenies and trevally there. Every now and then even bara are cuaght off there. It is VERY high above water level and very tidal with big currents. If you want to land your fish it is either a long hike to shore from the fishing area to land, or a roped cliff gaff you will need.

I have only fished it 3 times on holiday there and it was hit and miss. Another choice but you have to be mobile is to fish Gauntheame Point area on an incoming tide flicking metal lures for queenies etc. But the tide is crazy and you have to keep moving otherwise you will find yourself 6m under water or have to swim for it. Im amazed at how quick it can come in and close an exit behind you if you arent watching for it.

Soaking a bait up there is almost a waste off time IMO.

and Jacks. For some reason that Im not sure about fingermark are not as common as far as I am aware Broome down. I only ever caught one of dampier in six years fishing, but caught heaps off other Lutyanus species. Further north and into the NT very common (and I caught one in Cairns off a charter in the harbour).

Crocs are there but the beach area I am talking about is shallow, and I am only talking about knee deep and retreating.

Dont realy consider that an issue but dont be the first!!!

This might help you.  I reckon it is one of the best reports I've seen on here.
