My First Boat
Well its finally happened, picked up my very first boat today! had been eyeing it off on gumtree when it came up a few weeks ago and obivously the future wife was paying attention. my birthday being last week she had been secretly inspecting the boat with a friend and with the all good she suprised me with a trip to the dealer to look at my new boat. needless to say i was stoked!
2002 Quintrex 530 Freedon Sport with a 2006 90hp Honda.
it has been well looked after, the previous owner was clearly a keen fisho and a well organised person. there are little nooks, custom holders or storage for everything and more.
needs some care in a few places, the bimini is torn partially and from what i understand it has sat for a few months so fresh fuel, oil and filters are in order along with wheel bearings for the trailer. the flooring in the center between 2 braces bows a little under foot when it was wet, bit better today. no boat cover so thatll be the first thing ordered.
Cant wait to take her out! got her just in time for winter... haha ah well
did a bit of research and it sounds like the hondas are very well regarding for quietness, fuel and reliability
tows beautifully behind the fortuner, cant wait to take it up to Kalbarri in sept and next years shark bay boys trip!

Looks like a nice rig too. Would be perfect up at shark bay in particular.

Nice one, saw you hitching
Nice one, saw you hitching it up this morning while i was there having a look. Fishings better in winter, go for a drive and speak with Tim at Tim's Tackle in Guildford to set you in the right direction for all the inclose snapper and skippy action.

Yep nothing wrong with those Honda 4 strokes
Had a 40hp in the model for years. Never ever let me down and easy enough to service yourself.

500 hours
motor has just over 500 hours on it so should last me a while, didnt have any info but looks like the carby set gasket is new, also anti corrsion spray and grease in all required areas aswell.
yeah versatility has been the big must, mrs wont come out much but shell want to be comfy when she does. plus kids are on the cards in the enxt few years so its something for the family and itll get a workout on the boys trips aswell.
haha yeah Rob90 few guys have tried to nab her after that one, or asked about a sister (shes married aswell) but the rings on! she's set the bar pretty high, no idea what im going to get for her birthday now...
heading to kalbarri for a weeki in september, have been before around that time and its a great place. had some luck fishing from shore but this will be the first year with plans for offshore so hopefully have something to post when i get back.
