When you do decide on what
When you do decide on what you want look online as I was chasing a Bf goodrich tyre as one had a flat spot local it was $450, delivered from melborne it was $280.

I put cooper stmaxx (10 ply)
I put cooper stmaxx (10 ply) on the lux, pretty agro AT, bit noisy but happy so far. Wide groves so bugger all stones get stuck in em, good in the wet, and haven't had to let tyres down for beach work so far this summer where we've gone. The AT3 might suit you better. Meant to get 100k outa coopers. Only tyrepower sells them

Maybe let em down any way
Maybe let em down any way champ your vehicle won't have to work as hard and you will not chop the track up for everyone else!

Great on road and sand and really good on gravel! Just put my second pair on, got 104000 km's out of my 1st set! They were pretty low when I replaced them tho, and never got a flat with them on, didnt do alot of off road but enough trips north and enough off road to of expected one

Not too bad, pretty similar to BFG AT's noise wise, apart from that can only compare them too muddies which there's no comparison.

Tyreplus in Wanneroo are doing BF Goodrich AT in 265/75R16 for $330 a tyre at the moment.
Mate of mine just put on some of the new Mickey Thompson ATZp3 285/75R16 on from Emerald Tyres Joondalup. Look awesome but cost a bit at $380 a tyre. Though are nice and quiet.

Yeah, they were very quiet
Yeah, they were very quiet when new, mine are on my work ute which does about 1000km a week. Definately getting noisier as they wear down, had a set of BFGoodrich all terrains before and I think thats what I would go back to.

Tyres can 'scallop' due to
Tyres can 'scallop' due to farked shocks, generally tread blocks on the shoulder of a tyre will be up and down and cause the noise, run your hand over them, then you will know

Generally occurs.on the shoulder of the tyre. Every second block usually, will be worn down lower. I have seen cars with knackered shocks driving on the fwy and the tyre bounces along at a rapid rate, leaving the ground!

Have also seen front tyres do this on vehicles with seemingly good front shocks but constantly overloaded rear.
Shock absorbers are important....

Ive gone back and forth
Ive gone back and forth between Duelers A/T and Grand Trek. After 2 sets of each across two vehicles, the Grand Treks get my vote. Quiet on the bitumen, good grip in the wet and no problems in sand. Struggle in mud and havent done enough gravel to give an opinion. Usually around 70-80k out of a set. My main running is bitumen so I want quiet and grip.

Got Duellers on my LC200,
Got Duellers on my LC200, BFG ATR's on my D40 Navara(Previously had Coopers ATR) and BFG Muddies on my XJ Jeep.
To be honest I dont see any differences with the ATR's. Buy what you can afford. The BFG Muddies on the XJ is a different beast so a bit pointless comparing considering it goes where the the other 2 Tourers dont go.

BFG AT's again all the way!!! Not too rugged for the sand, fairly quiet.. and 3 ply sidewalls which really looks after the tyre when pressure is down 4x4ing.

BF All Terrains here, love
BF All Terrains here, love them, i had Coopers but found the rubber chipped away on rocky ground and i staked one within 20km of touching Gravel and having to change it in the dead of summer put me in a bad mood so i'm back with the BF's on my Cruiser. Those prices aren't too bad i needed 18 inch tyres for my old Pajero and they had just come into the country, cost me $640 a corner!!!
