Hi all,

Finally leaving Jandakot Airport and moving to Sunshine Coast Airport, Marcoola, QLD in a couple of months. Never been to the East Coast.

Heard there is good fishing around there. Any tips for someone without a car ... ... and without a boat? I will be staying walking distance from the airport.

Do I need surf gear?
What can I get around there from foot? Will anything the the water eat me?
Anyone into flyfishing?
And anyone know of a good forum (like this one) that is based there?

So far i'm planning on bringing a 9ft rod that can cast 40grams and a Technium loaded with 16lbs braid. Also can't decide between a #5, #8 or #10 WT fly rod.

Any help would be great. I keep moving, so can't carry too much - i'm supposed to be training and will only be there for a few months before moving again.
