Hello to you all.
Im needing to put a trailer under my big fat Shark Cat ( 8.5m ). Let's start a discussion on who makes the best trailers and does it need to be ally or steel?. On an even more fun topic a tow vehicle to mooove this puppy around. I'm needing to be thinking outside the box here with a trailer that's going to be capable of moving about 6000kg ( trailer included ) and a truck to tow it with.
Cheers people!.

Sounds like your going to need a truck to tow the tub. Possibly look at the iveco . They have a 4x4 light truck dual cab, but not sure on tow capacity of them

I’ll say
Hindsight is a beautiful thing there Mitch. If I had known what I was in for I'm pretty sure I'd have bought a different boat. So far it's been 45k and almost a thousand man hours of my time!. She's a sliiightly different looking bus these days and we should be back in the water within the next two weeks. Just doing the finishing touches at the moment and there's a possibility we could be living in either Broome or Thursday island in the near future. Tossing up whether to throw some more money at it and make it transportable or do the unthinkable and sell her..... Even funnier is the fact that the previous boat I sold ( nice centre console ) would have been perfect for either place! ( did I say " fuck I'm an idiot some days"....:) On that note I'll be giving Duralite a call tomorrow.

Is that the one for sale in Exmouth for 130k?.
Duralite came in at 22k for a 4500kg custom trailer. Will be weighing her in the near future and the magic number I'm looking for is no more than 3650kg for the boat by herself. If this is the case I'm going to be pretty happy, if not I've got to jump up to a full air brake system for a 6000kg trailer with full truck suspension and a price tag of 55k!.

the Isuzu nps300 is only
the Isuzu nps300 is only good for 3.5 tonne. You would need to go to a 550series I reckon.

I've spent the last month or
I've spent the last month or so trying to get a new trailer sorted. Need to note, there are 2-3 month delays and wait times for trailers to be built.
Whilst Ace trailers build a reasonable trailer, they are shocking to deal with. Never respond, never answer the phone. I cant deal with a company like that, like they dont care about selling anything.
I'm going down the Duralite route, although wait times are as long at least those blokes have the deceancy to pick up the phone and repond to emails.

Have you tried tezzas
Have you tried tezzas trailers? They make a decent trailer.

Nope
Getting a six Tonne trailer built is a wee bit tricky. It's got to be ADR compliant and there's only a handful of people in Australia that are doing it for boat trailers. Thanks for the heads up though!.

Yep pretty sure anything
Yep pretty sure anything over 4.5T you need a licence to build, went through the exercise a few years back for a client wanting a small excavator trailer. You need to apply to Canberra for the licence and then all the other crap involved. No good for a one off.

Pulled the trigger.
Finally made it to Duralite trailers today and paid my deposit for my new Cat trailer. Had the grand workshop tour and got to see a pretty well identical trailer to what I've just ordered. It's nothing short of gobsmackingly gorgeous and the build quality is immaculate. Can't wait to collect it and get it under my boat!.
