New combo advice
Submitted by Caza on Fri, 2020-08-21 17:43
gday legends so with a upcoming trip to the north coming up fast decided to treat myself to a nice combo to go with the new boat im tossing up between the new stella 14000 and new saltiga 10000 im leaning more towards the stella but any input or experience would be great
Second will need a rod to match it to if anyone has a suggestion with a budget of about 2k including the reel what would be your choice if you were in my position

Okuma Makira, the Alan hawk
Okuma Makira, the Alan hawk review on them looks very impressive and the drag system is a great idea

What do you intend to use
What do you intend to use the combo for ? Bottom bash ? Popping for GTs ?
If you can let us know that'll help us narrow down the choices. Especially so for the PG & HG models.

If you're bottom bouncing
If you're bottom bouncing then a Stella 8k is plenty but popping as Ula says above then I'd deff go the 14. Teamed up with a Demon blood CJ64 pe 2-4 is an awesome set up.

I will probably get hammered
I will probably get hammered for this, but for 2k, I would buy two quality second hand outfits as there are plenty of guys who buy an outfit for that fishing trip then store away hoping for the next adventure that may not happen and decide to sell.
You may not have time to look around now as you say your trip is fast approaching.
You need to be more specific on what your intentions are in regards to the style of fishing you are leaning too.

Mate no problem with that
Mate no problem with that comment as I've hardly ever bought new, always second hand.
