new epirb ?/ recomendations ??

my current epirb in the boat expires next month , so im on the hunt for a new one

desire to tick these boxes if possible below

would prefer to buy australian made or at least not made in china jobby
best range on location
walk in shop front buy , rahter than online ?/

thoughts /experiences ?

That seems to relate to the auto activation on immersion.

Not sure how it works out its in Aus waters except gps?

Doesnt mention anything in the user manual either that I could see

 If you purchase a new unit , make sure it meets new specifications as of the 1 jan 2021 as set out by australian maritime safety, it must be 406 mhz and be fitted with a cat 1 float free cradle. WHITWORTHS HAVE THESE.

I believe its only certain commercial vessels that have to have float free epirbs as of Jan 2021

Yep that’s the one I have. Oz made and 10 year battery life. Touch wood I won’t ever need to use it
