Jas,

Berkley Dropshot or Shimano Rack Raider - Depending where, $80-110 dollars.
most stores have a shimano or daiwa reel that will suit the bill between $70-$100

Dont forget, gotta factor in some line for it... so 125yards of 4lb fireline should be between $20 and $26 :)

Thhers heaps to choice from

Thhers heaps to choice from for that kind of cash. I quite like the starlo stix tornament 2 to 4 kg and daiwa have some nice new ones as well, like heartlands, terria, etc. Strudwick sic stic pro are another nice pic.

Basically id go with something in the 7" range 2 to 4kg with a short butt which makes it easier to work plastics and hard bodies which are light. Also medium to fast action is the go, i prefer fast to extra fast rods for soft plastics on bream but it your chasing herring and the like as well a med to fast is what you need. Yeah id head down to a good shop and ask heaps of questions......ryan will healp you out.

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

the wilson live fibre "lightning 5" (i think thats what its called) is very nice too . ive also got the dropshots both with nexave reels  sized 1000 and 2500 . reels are great for the price as we use them for baby tuna and ytk's and they have survived a year and a half now.
