New project boat
Submitted by Silver Fox on Sat, 2021-06-26 11:12
Invested $250 today on a new boat. I'm a sucker for a multihull and this 4.9m Markham whaler is the new project to keep me off the streets. Please excuse the iPhone screenshot.
Just thinking of what I can put on the rear end?. A couple of 100's.....:D

Looks like your going to be busy with this one. Better not spend all your pocket money or you will be investing in a set of oars to power this one .

Strange you should say that one Russ
The boat has a set of oars built into the under gunnel storage. Not too sure if it's a factory option?.

If the pics are any indication...
it doesnt look damaged...
be interesting to see it after a good polish.
What is the hull rated for in motor HP ? just looking 2 x 60hp would make it fly. 2 x 40 may be practical.
Oh............. the trailer looks...................................... "interesting..."

Trailer is munted biiig time.
Lucky Thursday Island is only 3.5km2. The boat is about 500m from my place with two flat tyres and half the steel missing I'm going to hitch it up and crawl home. What could possibly go wrong?!?.
Hulls are rated to 120hp. I've seen one with twin 115 Zooks on the back but I'll be looking at twin 60/70 hp. I might even go down the road of having one donk in the middle as it's quite a popular setup. Maybe a single 115-140 will suffice. The boat itself is in really good shape, quick strip and repaint some donks a sounder or seven then some more unnecessary fruit and we're back in business. It's nice to have three boats again....:D
