Caught this baby today. Some websites say they grow to 30cm. This Butterfly Gurnard is 42cm. Lovely fish.

they do get bigger
ive Only caught 2 but one was jist over 50cm and other was 34cm

This is the biggest one we have caught
We didn't measure it, let it go , but on reflection would have given the WA record a bit of a pasting. That's a 6oz sinker next to it for reference, so I think it was a fair bit over 50cm
