New rod

One of my old bad rods broke yesterday that was bought when I was a non-fisherman, anyway I really need a new surf fishing rod and I can buy a new (has to be really really cheap though I mean under $40) rod that will be used for bwit fishing 95% of the time but the odd lure aswell. So I thought that I would buy a jarvis walker tuff tip rod in 5-10kg. But I am tossing up between the 2.9 metre version or the 3.2 metre version. What do you guys think I should get?

What size reel you putting on it. What line are you fishing?

Why do you want such a long rod for throwing lures?

 Yeah it's mostly a bait

Mon, 2014-10-06 11:33

Yeah it's mostly a bait thing. I got some left over 25lb line which I have already spooled on it, going to be used for tailor fishing. I havn't re-read my main post but I may have forgot to say that it will be used for bait 96% of the time. It will be on an old reel but it has 10kg drag im pretty sure.

 Yeah I would, I'm actually

Mon, 2014-10-06 11:52

Yeah I would, I'm actually looking around verge collections for newish push bikes and fixing them. My mate did it and earned over 2 thousand dollars. Anyway the reason I don't want to spend too much money is because I seem to snap every rod I can get my hand on currently. But if I got the same money as my mate did I would be getting the best rod on the market for sure

Lauchie, Gumtree mate

Always some good rods on there for nix mate.

Some are older tech, but for bait fishing they are good value.

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kenwick/fishing/fishing-rods-reels/1058262679

$10 for a 12 footer there.

or some good looking options in here:

Keep an eye out in the fishing section you will get a solid rod for $40 on the right day, easy.

Cheers,

D80
