It depends what fish you want to target, what size boat, experience, weather, and where you live?
When I was living in Two Rocks we frequently went out in the evening chasing snapper on the second bank, doing short drifts and moving along untill we found the fish, starting from the "blue hole" off Yanchep finishing up at the start of the Linda reef.In a four hour session we often got our bag limit of big snapper with the odd dhuey throw in.
yeah we are in a 24ft and have a lot of experience just not in perth we where thinking of going to stragglers as for what we want to catch pinkies, dhuies, mullaway, tailor, salmon, sharks and anything else that swims lol
Go out in daylight and follow your track on the gps back in is the safest way.North from the stragglers to the drop off outside of Alkimos reef or even further to the "blue hole"of Yanchep should produce results.Run out untill the bottom levels out, shoud be around 90feet or 25-27 metres then drift back up untill you get to the top, move along 50-100 metres and repeat.
If there is a swell greater than 1-1.5 metres be extremely careful as it can break in some areas at that height

If you are chasing Mulloway you could always try around
Blakcwall Reach.
