No Crabbing in Cockburn Sound- December 2015.

Looks like I won't be able to go Crabbing until next year.
Going to have to drive to Mandurah, and that's going to get a hammering.

No Crabbing in Cockburn Sound- December 2015.
I thought we could start crabbing mid December. I guess you've got to keep an eye out for updates.
Hopefully the same won't happen to the Demersal ban.

No crabbing in the sound for the whole of next year, sounds like a long period of time. Wouldnt it be better to just have a couple months closed annually like the demersal ban?

Spenda da money!
This is a perfect example of where the fisheries need to be a bit more proactive in
advertizing these changes, how many people , whom are not intentionally killing it ,, will be caught out.
I have no probs whatso ever with a measured , considered ban , as the numbers we have seen diving for them , in the last
few years have drasticly dropped.
( I still hear of people whom are unaware of the decade long cobbler ban in the swan)
and the fisheries do change things so much more often than ever before, that even well informed, regular fishers get caught out
let alone a 2twice a year fisher taken the kids for a crab.

Rockingham to Mandurah will
Rockingham to Mandurah will be closer and less road traffic.
And yes agree about Fisheries informing the general public, surely there will be some sort of advertising in Local papers?
I was waiting to go out in two weeks time(Dec 15th 2014) until I was made of this latest ban.

Rockingham to Warnbro would be even closer. The Fisheries website only shows Cockburn as being closed to crab fishing.
