NO MEASURE DISTANCE TOOL
Submitted by John The Scone on Thu, 2020-06-18 10:30
I have just purchased a Lowrance Hook2 7 TS/Combo. After firing it up I have not been able to calculate the distance between any two points on the chart. According to the manual it is a simple process ie, select first position on the chart using the cursor - quick press ENTER - select MORE OPTIONS tab on the sub menu display - select MEASURE DISTANCE tab and proceed from there. According to Lowrance it should work but the MEASURE DISTANCE tab does not appear. Has anyone else had this problem and if so know how to fix it?

distance underwater
my understanding was that tool was used for measuring distance of two points underwater so you would need to be in sonar/structurescan view and postition the cursor etc.
it sounds like you are trying to do this in chart view. if you want to do that in chart view you would plot a course/route
Error 404

NO DISTANCE MEASURE TOOL
Yes you are correct Bliecester. Eventually got some informed advice via Grant at GB Marine in Albany. Really knows his stuff that bloke. Problem is I spent a lot of time on the phone to the guys at Lowrance in America and they never twigged that I was looking for that function on the chart. They suggested returning the unit for an exchange. Cannot understand why they have not enabled that on the Hook2 and Reveal models though, especially when you consider the prices ($750 - $850). Pretty basic stuff and not rocket science. Check ou the Boating HD app by Navionics. Be great to be able th measuring distances like that.
Thanks, John
