Mate did u mean 8/0, if so ,
Mate did u mean 8/0, if so , they are on the large side but give good hook holding power. Most guys would use somewhere between 4/0 and 6/0 I would think. The choice is yours depending on how large your bait is also.

Best time
With a high tide at 7:50 am and a low tide at 2:40 pm ( only a small hight change ) you should be right in the zone mate.
As a rule = 1 to 2 hours before and after a high or low tide change are the ideal times to fish.
4/0 to 6/0 hooks should be good for the snapper. After a storm i prefer cut baits rather than whole baits. ( Squid heads, Yellowtial or Herring cut into 3 bits are about the size you want )
I just use a dropper loop with one hook and the sinker on the bottom. You can use 2 loops and hooks but i find this can snag up on the rocks easy )

Seen some pics from the mole
Seen some pics from the mole today and there was quite a few snapper getting picked up....but the place was packed. I'm going to the ASI groyne about the same time. Hoping it will be a little quieter. Good luck mate hopefully we'll be comparing snapper on here tomorrow night

Pink Snapper Info
hi guys, tommorow i am going to the north mole for snapper at around 8 to 2 in the afternoon. is that a good time for snapper? whens the best time.
From what Ryan and us here have found the best time is;
* Sunrise
* Sunset
* Lead up to High Tide
* Low tide change
* Anglers Alamanac " Major and Minor " feed periods (definately use the yellow book)
will there be salmon and herring in the stormy water.
Salmon yes but not a lot of herring.
also is size 8 octopus hooks to big for snapper?
We use 7/0 circle hooks

Tomorrow!
Minor bite times tomorrow are approximately 1.25PM and 1:45AM
Major bite times are 7:45PM and 7:25AM.
I've always recommended the "Yellow Book " which is Anglers Alamanac both on TV and in my shop ........ a MUST!!
Add on 15 minutes for Fremantle times when going off the Angler's Almanac times!!!!

I was down at Hillary's last night when your mate caught that 4kg snapper. Later someone pulled in a 9kg 95cm monster snapper.
