Ocean Road

With the new Ocean Road just about to open between Lancelin and Cervantes will there be an increase in fishing traffic heading north for quick tips even over weekends as the trip will reduce the travel time by up to 45 minutes making places like Jurian and even Kalbarri a very quick trip into areas with great fishing from the beach and boat?

Jurien...
...new road equals more fishers equals more hammering equals less fish. Oh well, was gonna happen sooner or later.
Very rarely read the Sunday Times but did today and saw that they're going to put FADS out off Jurien/Cervantes...tremendous news and we can thank Whitey for it. Hopefully will alleviate some of the pressure on the demersals and the slightly warmer water temps up there (during most years!) should equate to larger and more numerous mahi than what we normally see at the Rotto FADS.

We're going to
try the new road through to Cervantes, Jurien then Leeman, but if too busy will go the old way, be nice to stay off of the Brand H'way, too many trucks, caravans now.
Was talking to the the lady that owns the fish and chip shop in Jurien, they are very concerned about the traffice going through Jurien (speeding etc as its only 50klms per hr down the main street)) and on the other hand the traffic will also be good for businesses. They are closing year 11 and 12 High School in Jurien so thats another factor they are worried about, families leaving Jurien Bay because of the High School being closed for the last two years of high school.

Hope everyone brings their own boat ramp, it gets crowded at times and will get alot worse. There are no jetties here anymore so keep that in mind if planning to fish from them.

On the Road
Sorry about the scare, Always travel the coast road when I head down to Perth, hope the drive is not spoilt! They will have to work on the road north of Jurien or we will see a few accidents.
