Ocean whaler 565
Well finally got a chance to take my "new" 2nd hand ocean whaler out in some decent chop.
I have to say wow!
Having been an ally monohull man most of my life Id have to say Im now a believer, firstly in fibreglass and secondly in trihulls.
Mighty impressed with its stability and the ease it handled all directions of sea. Particularly the following waves over 3 mile reef today.
A good indicator is always how many hail marys the finance minister/deckie says when shes out with me in any sort of weather.
The good lord would have been thankful for the rest as she never bothered him once i dont think!
She was "very comfortable" when asked as we surfed down through the shallows between breakers.
Certainly the dryest centre console ive ever been on too.
Looking forward to seeing how it handles the late return trip from rotto.
Great fishing platform too!
Can highly recommend if anyones thinking of a change from the traditional ally monohull.
Got some fish too! :-)
Cheers!!

I like the look of these
I like the look of these hulls. I was interested in buying one a couple of years ago before having another youngun and am now looking for a versatile boat that I can go for crays, crabs, fishing in the 40's, family days and is easily towed for holidays.
Thanks for your review.

Shot out west end rotto
Shot out west end rotto thursday amongst lightning and thunder!
Wasnt rough but still a good long ride.
Whaler never missed a beat.
Again impressed me as a fishing platform. So stable with a cpl of idiots running from side to side with rods, nets etc...
Nice queen snapper and a dhuey didn't hurt either!
