Should be a cull on all sharks
I mean how many do we need.we all know how many there are out there and it will effect fishing tourism in this state . imagine if it continues as is. All there will left is sharks

We could have a great shark
We could have a great shark fishery, Local shark in the fish and chip shops not that imported crap they are selling to us.

Up Darwin, so a bit far to
Up Darwin, so a bit far to get 6PR. would be good to hear what the public have to say.
We fish for Snapper, Dhu etc but no one to my knowledge has netted for sharks for 20 years. Carlo was the last that I know of, he would run 2km of net and pull each morning.

Mitigating the threat
Mitigating the threat by using devices that have been shown to have some measurable effect on reducing the threat of being attacked by sharks.
I'm sure there are a couple of products on the market that have been proved to reduce the threat of being attacked by sharks.
100% effective no, offering some protection yes, far better than nothing and I have seen a bit of film which showed a couple of scallop divers using them if these professional divers are using them then that can be taken as some sort of recommendation.
Unfortunately there will always be sceptics who will always be critical of anything introduced to try and save peoples lives and that is just part of us humans make up.
However if there is a device that is going to reduce the chances of being taken by a shark, then if you don't use one
Then the other alternative is to take out a hefty insurance policy on lost wages you could incur through injury whilst pursuing you sport.
All the hype about killing all the sharks, stinging beetles and ever other biting scratching stinging annoying thing on earth because some of use want it destroyed is not going to happen.
Weigh up the threat take the precautions you can and live with it.

Humans - I'm baffled
A child falls into a Gorilla cage at a Zoo and we expect a Gorilla to sit and do nothing if he does bring harm to the kid shoot him.
A women walks with a friend 10 o'clock at night IN crock-infested waters which they knew before-hand and one was taken by a crock we go hunting to kill the crock.
A surfer has he's leg taken where he surfs after 4pm where sharks was spotted not far away even fish baitschools were spotted no far away and yet another cull to catch a shark.
Since 2000 WA had 11 shark fatality's off the coast all of a sudden we go into killing mode kill kill kill. More people lost their lives on WA roads since 2000 then those by sharks.
And yet we let Pedophiles and Drug dealer walk out on the street parole no parole the list goes on all this is bringing harm to kids yes thats correct KIDS and yet we say and do nothing because it's unfair or inhumane to lock them up and if you do say something your unfair your the problem and their not. I lost my left leg under the knee by a shark 22 years ago off the S/African coast while on holiday there and yet I knew where I was going, I knew the risk and still decided to surf, it was my call I was dancing in he's cage no need to kill them no need at all.
