Out boating.... Not fishing
G'day guys!
Went out "fishing" yesterday out back of rotto to a few marks my mate had given me. He said they were ship wrecks and sea containers that had fallen in the water. It was pretty swelly and windy but still went out.... Benefits of a 25 foot boat.... Out it about 100 m of water and couldn't locate a single bump, rise, hole, structure.... Nothing. After 2 hours of searching and a couple of pointless drops we came back in closer to rotto. There we found a few lumps that but drift after drift we were getting hammered by small fish and pulling up Sargent baker (which were then cut up and put on hooks) but so decent fish at all!! This is about the 3rd trip in a row I've been out fishing and came home empty handed. Must be looking in the wrong areas...
My point of the post is to ask whether there is better ground hillaries side of rotto or south side? I fish south side and as the post suggests, I don't do very well! Haha
Cheers

both sides
there is good ground on both sides of Rotto. some good coral to the nw,and the ground around duffield ridge on the south can fish well too. shallow lumps are goodfor anchor and berley.

Marks?
The marks your mate gave you, are they new or off a very early GPS, because if off an early one you may have to look NE about 60 metres to find the point.

sounds like your in the right area
sargent baker inhabit the same areas duefish do so keep trying!! there is lots of ground on the south side! but just because your there doesnt mean you will catch look into the tides and the almanac! although these arent the only times to fish just gives you a good idea! i also dont like fishing swell of more than two metres! i just dont seem to catch as much!
ALL FISHERMEN ARE LIARS EXCEPT YOU AND ME! AND IM NOT SO SURE ABOUT YOU!
