The Owen List
let's see how long this will last--in the interests of the comp in general hope it dies a natural death. You could have made good money on some of the inclusions at the end of Round 2. In reverse order, lowest percentage first.
- Dockers
- Suns
- Carlton
- Swans
- Hawthorn
- St Kilda
- North Melbourne.
Looking to Round 3, Hawks should be gone, playing Suns, Swans should beat Magpies, Essendon to beat Carlton, St Kilda should account for Lions @ Etihad. Don't really like the Dockers against Dogs, would rival Lazarus. Norths v Giants? So the list should be down to 3 or 4.

I'd also like to add the East Perth Eagles to the Owen list after the Black Ducks gave them a touch up on the weekend. Both my teams undefeated so far this season.
Great to see our no 13 pick getting a whole 12 touches in the WAFL whilst Powell-Pepper in his second game went head to head with a Brownlow medalist and pants him severely.

Would not say fyfe got pants severely. SP-P was very very good particularly for a second gamer. But fyfe still had almost 30 touches, which is about 1/3 more the SP-P got (20 ?). The latter's 20 were probably more damaging than at least 20 of fyfe's.

Whatever makes you sleep better at night mate. He completely shut Fyfe down for the first half and was then given licence to get his own ball once the game was beyond doubt which he did and as a result Fyfe racked up a whole bunch of junktime stats.

Everyone needs to move on. Freo's premiership window got slammed shut on us last year. I have moved on. If freo start playing kids and get beaten by 100 points i am good with that. If they keep playing the 3rd oldest team and continue to get beaten, i am not good with that.
It is now time for lyon to show his worth as a devolpment coach.

You guys all need to move on. Worry about your own teams' performances. I seem to remember the eagles getting smashed in a gf recently and yet they still persist with a bloke who chokes every time? Why? Give him another opportunity? Same applies to the freo coach. He has a proven record with teams he has inherited. Give the guy an opportunity to develop his own squad.

Any, to The List. I was listening to the games on AM radio, so can't comment on anything but the outright outcomes. The list has certainly shrunk, but was sort of money could you made made on betting ?
Hawthorns' apparent fourth quarter capitulation should send tremors through the club as a whole. Swans v Eagles next week? Swannies will be desperate, Eagles had better be on their game AND kicking straight. If the Eagles do win, I would predict that this list will look exactly the same at the end of next round, although the Dockers did prove that the Dogs are certainly not unbeatable--who'd a thunk, well done boys ( this, grudgingly

N Melbourne probably desperately unlucky to still be winless, that last moment shot on the run by Thomas could have been the winner. Crap game until well after half time, when the Dogs woke up, and Norths were forced into action by it. Great last quarter.

I wonder when the R word will be used at Hawthorn. Two 4th quarter utter floggings in a row. The most optimistic supporter can no longer deny they are done, and won't be around at the pointy end of the year. They are actually around the same percentage and results that Freo were this time last year. And looking at their upcoming games, could be old mate and 6 two rounds from now. The Hawks climb out of the pit with a well-deserved win against opponents who seemed half-hearted, at best. The Swans have a firm hold on the bottom rung of the ladder, with a desperately unlucky Norths wondering what they need to do to win a game. They should probably talk to Hawthorn. They'd have to be a real chance next week vs the Suns at Etihad, and surely the Swans can run over Carlton, even if it is at the MCG. Surely...?
