give it a good sand and wash to remove as much ingrained salt as possible.

youll have to etch prime it then paint it with a top coat, speak to a piant shop for the right paint to use

Dinghy Paint

I’m about to start painting my 12 foot dinghy. To get the best result you have to be so anal about prep. All paint must be removed and make sure there’s no oil or dirt left when you start painting. If you rub the boat down with thinners before painting this should avoid all oil. As Kane said assuming its ally you need to apply an Etch prime. The prime just gives the paint a good surface to stick to.
To get the best finish were using International perfection undercoat and perfection top coat which is a gloss. It’s not cheap and I’m sure you could do it cheaper but after speaking to a few people this method will produce the best result. International are the main suppliers so go to a shop that supplies them and get a international hand booklet, this just says this like how many coats are needed, how long they take to dry ect. Depending on where you are I found Witworths in Mozzy helpful they stock all the paint and its cheaper than most places I found.

if you need any further info just pm
