PB MURRAY BLACK BREAM 51CM

went down to me snag this arvo and finally landed one after losing a few during the week and only managing to land bream up to 38cm on the usual light bream gear. I decided to try the 30lb snapper rod with a secret weapon for bait and even that was only just enough to stop this horse. I wanted to let her go but no one would believe me and I left the phone home. had it in bread crumbs for tea and it was sensational.

What a horse of a bream well done

Mon, 2014-11-24 23:00

When they get that big it's time to bring out the serious gear to stop them. A great catch, and local too.

Hooter blue nose monster, shame you couldn't release it. It would have been a good 25 - 30 years old.

Don't see them that big very often and can't blame you for wanting proof and a feed.  Congrats.

Dont see the half century to often. Nothing wrong with keeping it for proof and some nice fillets. Probably getting close to max size and age.

Also worth noting...

Wed, 2014-11-26 12:06

...no doubt it was a "big breeder" but really, how much more breeding was it going to do? I'm sure that it had already produced vast quantities of offspring and was definitely in the "twilight" of its lifespan.

Great catch mate, you're in a very exclusive club!

Just want to apologise

Sorry if I've up set anyone I know I have fukd up it was a big breeder. I actually court 3 that night and it was the smallest of all them. It wasn't wasted and left in the bucket over night or put in the freezer for crab bait. It feed my two kids and the wife and I. And it was sensational. If u want to bag me out its your choice but hahaha I had the  experience and of a life time so eat a dick

mate it is sad to kill such a fish but what matters is that even you agree. that separates you from the others with no soul and like you said, your family didnt go hungry and the monster had a good life and didnt die for nothing. so you should feel proud of yourself for getting such an awesome fish, having the evidence and having the good heart to feel a little sorry for it. makes my pb bream look like a goldfish. a little one.
