PB Murray Bream

Went to my regular spot on the Murray last weekend. Have been hitting it up every Saturday for the last month or so and am seeing improvements in my bream fishing every week which is encouraging. Some may recall me complaining about snapped leaders and pulled knots a few weeks back. Well I'm now running 10lb TD Sensor and 12lb flouro leader on one spool. Have not had one direct bust off since changing over.

First cast at my regular snag I had to put it out well behind the snag as the tide was very low. It took a couple of minutes but to my surprise the first bite took drag (it was set heavy - my PB below didn't take any drag). As I tried to apply a little pressure within half a second of feeling the weight the hook pulled. On retrieval I was amazed to see why.

I am convinced that this snag houses an absolute monster of a fish. It is probably the same old bream that was biting through my leader and making my 4lb mainline snap clean. Can't wait to try and lure it back out again tomorrow afternoon. :-)

Pulled in probably a dozen or so fish in the 20 - 26 range and a couple that would have been slightly bigger. Dropped one that I believe would have been well over 30 too.

Tried a couple of other snags and got into a heap of smaller fish, then close to sundown flicked a prawn into some deeper water and pulled in my PB bream at 32cm. Probably caught 30 odd fish in the couple of hours I was there....and still have not explored up to where I suspect the best snags will be found. Wink

Cheers
