PE3 casting rod recommendation

 Hey guys,

Just looking for recommendations on a PE3 rod for throwing lures between 40-80g'ish. Looking for a top end / good quality stick.

There seems to be a shortage when it comes to a choice on these rods in local stores....

Cheers

Bones

If you live in Perth metro

If you live in Perth metro pop into the Compleat Angler on Stirling highway in Nedlands. They stock all the high end brands, Ripple Fisher, Yamaga, Carpenter, Hots etc  I'm sure they'll be able to sort you out. Though these sort of rod come at a fairly hefty price!

 NS Black Hole Sea Bass

NS Black Hole Sea Bass Final, there is a dealer in Europe that can do them at less than half Aus price drop me a PM for details. Amazing rod, brutally stiff, great action, amazing finishing and super light. Scarbs Bluewater were doing better prices locally than Compleat when I got mine.

80gr is getting pretty heavy

80gr is getting pretty heavy for a typical PE3 rod. If you were talking more like 40gr I'd have said that the Yamaga Blue Sniper 77/3 is an awesome choice.

However the Temple Reef that Sam mentions would be a great option for the heavier weights you are looking at.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
