Persistance pays off

Well I had said to Paul G the other day that I am not leaving Telegraph pool until I catch a Barra, well today was the day.
I put a spread of 3 lures out the back and worked the deeper areas (Max 3Mtrs) had been going for a couple of hours and we had 1 strike but lost that after 10 seconds hooked..
We persisted and bang I was on and this was the end result..
Water temp is 19 Deg C and with the rain this year the water is all fresh water at the moment.
So I would say we were lucky to get one... Persistence does pay..

At the end of the day we cranked the fire and cooked the fish... Yummo Delish

Nice one mate, I remember fishing fitzroy for 12hrs straight without a hit, but just knew it was the good ground. Went back the next day and had the most unreal session with 8 landed !

it has been a great stay here, off to Derby tomorrow for the night then down the Gibb River road and check out some gorges.
After we get through that the last of the trip will be a week on the Keep river chasing a few more Barra.. I hope ;-)

Well done mate! Colder water certainly puts them off the bite but as you say persistence pays off
