Seems to depend on bait and surface temperature. I know of a few people who got some good size Mahi in mid December last year.

I've always found that
I've always found that March/April is a good time. Probably because the winds are kinder so we tend to go more then but the fish are bigger (obviously) later in the season.

They were deployed on 11 November Sea Goat. Co-ordinates on the Recfishwest website.
I never go there until we've heard of other catches. Having travelled out there too early once I wont do it again!

It is a long way but worth
It is a long way but worth it when the mahi are on! My advice is get there early on a weekend or go on a weekday. They can really shut down when they get hammered by boat after boat.

Mahi are being caught now.
Mahi are being caught now. Recfishwest FADs co-ordinates are on their website but not sure about the PGFC FAD's co-ordinates. You can pay for them I think but someone will post them here eventually.

Same spot
PGFC ones are in the same spot every year (within a couple hundred metres)
Never too hard to find.

Thanks Tim. Weather doesn't
Thanks Tim. Weather doesn't really suit a FADs run at the moment but good signs for the season. Between them there are a lot of FADs out there!
