pimp my jig

just looking at a few jigs of mine that look a little worse for wear.
does anyone feel, that the lack of bright shiny reflective colour, on a used, well worn jig , will tempt less fish to strike??
further , has anyone re painted and done better?

Graham, I suggest taking a leaf out of Noni Hazelhurst's book, circa Better Homes and Gardens, and get creative with that shit. Lay down some newspaper, get some glue, glitter and other assorted crap and go nuts.

I hv glued eyes and
I hv glued eyes and reflective stickers to my jigs. Also glow in the dark paint to the bellies. All caught fish.

I reakon a jig with some
I reakon a jig with some paint missing here and there can be a good thing, not as sexy to look at by the angler but when its darting around on the bottom the missing colour mite make it look even more like an injured baitfish. Like after a fish has been handled or attacked it looses its slime in spots and it gets that dull apearance, the flaked off paint mite just match that. Well thats my theory anyway!
Also imo a jig with no paint and great action is gonna outfish a nice colourful jig with crap action.

Have re covered a white bucktail
jig with a pink squid and caught a Dhui, my other jigs are still new or have been bitten off.

My turds always get polished.... two beady eyes in it, and I got a meself a Mr hankeecotupus
