 Big KG's

Sun, 2013-10-20 17:17

I got a special spot for big KG's in Barron Bay, but with no boat, they have been free to do what they want.

Cheers

We bagged out on kgs the other day during the king of the cape. All ours were 45-50.

Kgs

Glad you guys are getting amongst it down there! Any of the metro crew doing any good? I hit the KG's yesterday for the first time since demersal ban started and had to work pretty hard for a feed. For me, the last two years have seen the most spectacular run of big metro kg's ever and hoping it doesnt end anytime soon. Kinda got used to anchoring up at any of a dozen or more 'sure thing' spots and getting a feed of big kidney slappers. Anyone else find the KG action a bit slower this year? Doggles

I don't have that many spots for them and have been working hard to find the same numbers as last year.
Last year we seemed to have a good run of fishing most Friday arvos with the conditions being great and big kg's galore but does not seem the case at the moment.
Managed a 15 - 17kg sambo on a lightweight whiting rig that we thought was a ray so was actually a good surprise, but a gummy would have been better.
The late winter weather I think has taken some possible fishing time out of the equation as we will be dealing with summer winds soon.
