point peron ramps

all the ramps at point peron have been covered in sand , making it hard to get up the ramp when retrieving your boat , just saying i had to put my hilux into low 4 and engage the rear diff lock to get up the ramp , a bloke with a claytons 4x4 hyundi was stuck and geting quickly swamped with the swell , lucky a bloke with a nissan 4x4  unhitched his boat and yanked him out good on him ,

i am guessing the contractors doing the earth works at point peron have bugger  all to do with amount of sand on the ramps there now, just my conspiristy therory but  boat launchings would never hold the up  their  trucks coming past the ramps or  would they  or not ??? the thing is there is so much sand on each ramp its hard to believe it all made its way past the groin and directly  onto the ramps

Every Year

Happens every year after the storms

When the swell gets big it surges around the corner into the launching area bringing in tonnes of sand and weed

Usually the worst ramps are the northern most ones

Sand

Sun, 2018-08-26 17:08

Have seen sand up the ramp before. Also plenty of build up at the bottom that makes launching almost impossible at times.

Went for a drive through earlier today and there is more sand at the top of the ramp than I have seen before though.

Oh yep , a bit of sand on the concrete I've seen it like that. At least were not slipping on all the slime on the corrugations like we normally are.

 Something is going on down

Sun, 2018-08-26 16:43

Something is going on down there.ive launched down there probably 15 times in a  month as I've been on a break from work and I've seen the earthmoving equiptment cleaning it out 3 times.

One of the days was a good day and there was literally no one in the carpark lol. This weekend it wasnt even half full.

The ranger must be hating it as they normally  are giving out parking fines for guys parking on the grass.

Never seen the ramp covered in sand like it is now.

Sadley after each decent blow

The ramps get coved in sand and on a few occasions I have helped pull people out who have launch with 2 wheel drive vehicles.
