Point Samson

Heading up to Point Samson in a couple of weeks. How far out should I be heading to find good fish. I have a 4.55 stacer with 60hp 4stroke. Not asking for specific spots just distances.
Oh well, that plan just got shot to bits. My brother was to come over from Melbourne to tow the boat up to Pt Samson, but COVID has put paid to that well and truly. Thanks for all the advice folks, maybe next year. Not happy !!!

Channel Markers
there’s some good fish along the channel markers. And if you look on your charts you can see where it drops off out the back of the markers to 20+ metres there a distinct line of reef all the way along there. Good luck

Duck around behind delambre. Some good ground behind there where it starts to drop off.
The nomads get their 3.8's out there on a good day and catch the odd red.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Saw a monster muddy at the causeway when we were there a month back. Wasn't prepared for it so it's likely still there.

Channel marketed in close
Channel markers in close hold l good fish all the time.
As other have mentioned, back of Delambre is a good option too, though probably easier and quicker to launch from Balla Balla if you have neep tides (the dirt ramp there is f*cked if you're on spring though).
