Port Hedland Longtail Tuna Video
Submitted by Paul Cunningham on Mon, 2011-06-06 20:28
I thought that it was about time that I started filming the spectacular fishing in and around Hedland. This clip was taken from the first few minutes of ever trying to film myself fishing and I couldn't be more stoked with the results. I am filming with a Canon 7D and Tokina 11-16mm lens that is mounted to a mini tripod with a suction cup base stuck to the front seat.
Cheers and enjoy

Thanks everyone,
The plan is to get a few more out and some different species targeted so I will post them up as soon as they are done.
Beau, the rod I was using is the Viper, absolutely my favorite for this sort of fishing and using plastics as well. You just heave up and the fish comes to you. Seriously an awesome all round rod.

The cup comes attached to the tripod already. The suction cup attaches the tripod to the seat reasonably securely. Using the extendable legs of the tripod stabilizes the whole setup.

Funny you say that Peter,
Funny you say that Peter, last week my mates spotted them almost within casting range of the spoil bank. There is so much bait up here at the moment so they really could rock up anywhere.
