Caught 7 nice sized tailor, heaps of herring and whiting around preston beach last night from the beach. Wanted to stay out and try for mulloway but the wind picked up and sinkers couldn't hold buttom.
Seemed to have to work for them a bit more, didn't start catching until around 8pm.

i was down there too mate,
i was down there too mate, but on saturday night, we fished a hole about 4k's south of the beach entrance. cleaned up on herring and my mate got 2 tailor. alot of rays around though.
our baits were getting picked at by grabs from time to time, so on the next one we'll take a kayak down and set some pots out, should definitely pick up a few.
Also, which was quite bizzar, was my mate catching a baby threadfin salmon. the furtherest south i have heard them caught is gnarloo...real spin out. These warm waters are really turning up something special.

Yeah I went north of the beach entrance. I also reeled in a blue manna crab that was well over size so kept that and ate him! was going to take our inflatable tender there but didn't end up doing it. Wonder how i would go dropping some crab pots out there.
