Caught this longtail tuna at quobba over easter weekend. Got it on a little stradic 2500 with 10Lbs braid. There was bait ball every where had a ball catching and releasing heaps over the whole weekend

Best light tackle sports
Best light tackle sports fish going around, good stuff.
Lots of big bait balls around there at the moment and I got a couple of large longtails just to the south on sunday. Put them through the smoker this week.
Have you upgraded the drag on the Stradic? three tuna in a row the same size as yours smoked the original drag on my 4000. The spool was to hot to hold. Since upgraded to Carbontex washers and it is much better now.

hey tony yeah my dad took a few home as well to smoke they come up a treat in the smoker. Nar I haven't upgraded my drag seemed to be fine at this stage. But yeah there were some big bait balls had sharks mantas an tuna cutting them up. Seen some big longtails as well I rekon they would have been pushing 20kgs !
