mate bragging on the net that you have shot the roos with out mention of licenses is not the cleverest Idea..... It gives ammuniton to the anti gun/anti hunting movement and gives hunters a bad name. maybe think about what you post and protect your sport. We already have the toughest gun laws in the nation and they are only getting worse. posting stuff that could potentially damage is not good.
there is absolutley nothing wrong with tougher gun laws, if you require a gun then you will be included in those laws and be well drilled on the rules. owned and shot guns my whole life, family had 3 guns handed in for the semi auto buyback scheme, recently lost my licence and accept the reasons for it. i applaud the goverment for making it as hard as possible to get a gun let alone shoot one.
Nothing interesting expired, moved from rural to metro so needed to prove reason for license. Started to Jump through the hoops to get it back but decided it's not something I needed anymore living in perth. Lost was probably a poor choice of words
Not when its just for the sake of it rather than any particular reason.
My "Firearms ID Card" and Drivers Licence has the same name, address, number, photo, shape, size etc etc, yet they wont allow a Drivers Licence to be used as ID for purchases.
For those that havent dealt with this stuff, the "Firearms ID Card" is solely to ID you-your firearms are listed on a seperate piece of paper that is also required.
A few years ago the WA Police accidentally deleted a large proportion of the Licencing data base, hence why many people didnt get renewal notices.
That's true Rob, but as a responsible firearm owner you need to keep a close eye on your expiry date and actively chase it up if the powers that be forget.
You can only shoot roos if you have a permit or you are aboriginal and then they can only take one a week.
Otherwise they are protected with big fines if caught
I have to agree with Canarvon & the wanderer on this one...
Although yep there are in some cases too many roos and loads of bunnies probably not the smartest move to post here about shooting roos for pet meat...
Unless you are permitted you have criminalised yourself online...
Also... Show us some rabbits on a plate ready for the campoven and you'll have us jealous, your post here is pretty distasteful on a fishing forum even to me a bloke that only last night shot myself some bunnies and enjoys shooting and hunting...
Might pay for you to remove your post unless you have your bases covered mate or start saving for a hefty fine...
Not sure where you are going with the link provided...
To me it relates to the commercial harvest of Reds & Greys...
My bro inlaw is licensed to shoot roos as a commercial operator. I might be off the mark here but I don't think any landowner can shoot a Roo for the sake of culling?
I'm pretty sure that when a cull is required a commercial Roo shooter will be the bloke doing the culling...
Anyway like many rules and regs they are to control the irresponsible, I have nothing against you feeding the Corgies self served roo just a tad foolish to post online.
(1) Western Grey Kangaroos may be taken only when they are causing damage to primary production or may be reasonably expected to cause damage to primary production.
(2) Western Grey Kangaroos may be taken without license only by landholders and leaseholders, (or their approved nominated agents) on land which they own or occupy which lies within municipal district of the shires specified in the Schedule hereto.
I don't know whether choc is a landholder or not, but we probably shouldn't be jumping down his throat on an open forum without knowing the full story.
strange-the post is clearly titled "Rabbit cull dead animals" and someone is complaining that its "distasteful"??
Not to the majority it seems on this forum, I have also posted similar pics and had only positive responses, Big John also among others-recieving not only positives but encouragement and interested questions.
Id suggest that those who have a distaste for such things merely bypass the post.
Perhaps its one thing to say that you dont agree with shooting ferals (you'd need a plausible reason to be credible!) , but another just to say you didnt want to see it after having a look.
Always a few jumping on posts with out knowing, for choc to write the post id presume he knows the laws, if i was a Guro on this and i was concerned about a few Skippies id send a PM.
hey Brock o I have no issue with the shooting of Rabbits foxes or what ever I own fireams myself and reckon its great fun and to those who don't like it dont read the thread. The only thing I suggested was to be carefull of what he posts on line... It can easly be used agaisnt the hunting and shooting fraternity. if Choco posted that he was with a pro there would be no issue... But I do get your point about maybe being to quick to jump to conclusions and I can admit that i did that...

To who?
Who did you need to prove it to and why? If your guns were licenced on an open licence to begin with it doesn't matter where you live.

I guess so John-I missed mine
I guess so John-I missed mine though and didnt realise til I went to buy some ammo and it was pointed out.
I rang firearms branch straight away-later I realised why they were so accomodating.
Renewed without payment and got me to ask the dealer to ring them for authorization immediately and it was done, and appreciated.
Previously I had put them in to the local police for storage while I moved house for a week.
I had 3 calls over 3 months asking
"have you collected them"
-umm yes and signed them out
"are you sure they are in your possession"
-they were last week when I looked, why?
"just an audit"
At one of our local clubs that the WAP also use, we found a quantity of live .40 cal in the grass-only the Police use this calibre in their Glocks

Mixo is either eyes are cloudy, closing over and gunky etc and their liver usually has white spots.
As for 1080 poison, I don't think there is anyway to tell, but from memory they die pretty quick from it anyway.

Nice work on the bunny bash,
The rabbit population is getting pretty thick down Redmond here. I would see 50 or so a morning while driving to work to spent a day on the udders. Some sit in mobs 10 or more. I am constantly swerving around the road trying to run them over. Dirty little pests!
