I have eaten one cooked into porridge...thought I would die from it.....but ended up having 2 more bowls! Didnt have diarrhoea either. Apparently the Thai & Burmese eat them like a normal fish....

Chinamen and red bass aren't affected by ciguatera in WA only over east, something to do with the weed and corals that the smaller fish eat.

Nice sized Bass. You wouldn't eat them unless you had to, but they are a sports fish for sure. They go hard!!!!!!!!

I personally reckon they are pretty good on the chew too (though as has been said, you wouldnt eat one from Qld).
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
